Humiliated No MorePart 94, "The Story We Find Ourselves In"- Dale Pauls- 7/5/2009 In some circles the story of the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:26-40) is often told, but not always well-understood. It begins with an early church leader named Philip leaving the region of Samaria and being prompted, he’s convinced, by an angel of the Lord toward the desert road that goes from Jerusalem to Gaza. Principles that shape our church family
Oneness in ChristWe believe in Oneness in Christ. We welcome people from many different backgrounds and life experiences to worship and serve with us. We find our oneness in Christ. As the result of much study of Scripture, we do not restrict roles or assign privilege or status on the basis of birth. What matters to us is not how one is born but that one is spiritually reborn. (Galatians 3:26-28; Colossians) More Guiding Values |

The Stamford Church of Christ is a multi-racial, gender-inclusive Church of Christ. We honor as our spiritual heritage those attempts that began in America early in the 19th century to restore the life and spirit of Christianity as envisioned by Jesus and his apostles. So we are a community of believers - disciples of Jesus - who have confessed their faith in him and have been baptized into him. And we take seriously His teachings and their implications for the world in which we live. From their beginnings, Churches of Christ have been "locally owned and operated". We have no denominational organization or headquarters. So there are things we do that other Churches of Christ may not, and things that other Churches of Christ may do that we do not. As the result of much study of scripture, for instance, we do not restrict roles or assign privilege or status on the basis of birth. We believe that God judges all people everywhere not by the categories of their physical births but by the maturity of their spiritual births. |
